As a Washington DC Family photographer I am so used to capturing your babies and kids when they are young. Those first years are so special and kids change so fast we want to freeze them in time forever. But what happens when they start growing? Well, taking that time to create some unique new memories can get trickier. Believe me, I have an almost thirteen year old, and I can already feel him separating himself what made him a little kid. He is more independent and with that he wants his space, and the things that mom and dad want to do, might not be the ¨coolest¨ anymore. Just normal teenager stuff, which is scary, a reflection of how fast time goes by.

Teenagers can have busier schedules, they have plans with friends, sports and school, or they are in college and you don´t get to see them as often.

But taking the time to create new honest and soulful memories with them is so important. Even if they don´t seem as happy and excited about it. As a Washington DC family photographer believe me, they will always be grateful, when they have these photographs to share with the people they love in years to come.

There is something unique about working with teenagers during my family photography sessions in Washington DC. They have a different way of viewing the world and sharing their experiences and that reflects on the images we create. You can see that in their grown smiles and expressions. Also the way they express the love towards their parents is so special and important to capture.

Celebrating this special love through Family photography is so beautiful, it will also be a time of connection and a time with your kids that you might be craving for. If you are interested in taking more about a planning a family photography session in Washington DC with teenagers let me know!
